Volleyball Recap: Sierra Vista Falls Short Against Ranked Palo Verde

On Saturday, Sierra Vista faced Palo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions fell 2-0 to the Palo Verde Panthers. The defeat continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Regi Beshiri paced Sierra Vista's offense, picking up eight kills. Beshiri got some help from Isaiah Misailegalu and his eight assists.

Sierra Vista's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Palo Verde, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coincidentally, Sierra Vista and Palo Verde will both be playing Foothill the next time they take the court. Sierra Vista will head out to face Foothill at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Palo Verde will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
