Basketball Recap: Floyd Takes a Loss

Floyd lost against Melrose back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Floyd Broncos were outmatched by the Melrose Buffaloes and fell 76-26. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-13.

When it comes to explaining why Floyd lost, don't look at Edwin Gallegos. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points. That's the most points Gallegos has posted since back in February of 2024.

Floyd's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Melrose, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Floyd will square off against Dora at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Melrose, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Grady at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Melrose's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
