Peru waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Wes-Del Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 on Saturday.

Dawson Babbs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Reis Bellar was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Max Bielanski, who earned two runs and four stolen bases.

Peru's record now sits at 9-3. As for Wes-Del, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Looking ahead, Peru will head out on the road to face off against Manchester at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Squires have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Wes-Del, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Tri at 5:00 p.m. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
