Volleyball Game Preview: Vernon Hills Cougars vs. Niles West Wolves

The Vernon Hills Cougars will take on the Niles West Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Friday. Vernon Hills fell just short of Plainfield South by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Vernon Hills sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 24-26, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Niles West unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 2-0 to Niles North.

While Niles West ultimately came up short, they really made Niles North work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-20.

Niles West's loss dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Vernon Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-26 record this season.
