Basketball Recap: Central Rockets vs. Dr. Krop Lightning
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They breezed by the Dr. Krop Lightning to the tune of 103-63 on Thursday. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.
Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marlon Gaitan out in front who went 9 of 13 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Keri Foster, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points along with eight assists and eight steals.
Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Despite the loss, Dr. Krop saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Johans Richards went 10 for 20 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christ Victorin, who posted five points in addition to six assists and five boards.
