Basketball Game Preview: Mapleton Mounties vs. St. Paul Flyers

Mapleton is 2-8 against St. Paul since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Mapleton Mounties will finish 2024 at home by hosting the St. Paul Flyers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Mapleton came up short against Crestview and fell 63-55. While losing is never fun, the Mounties can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Cougars are ranked 68th).

Meanwhile, St. Paul waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 65-41 victory. The Flyers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Mapleton's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for St. Paul, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
