Preview: Chickasaw Chieftains vs. St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats
Chickasaw is 1-9 against St. Luke's Episcopal since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chickasaw Chieftains' road trip will continue as they head out to face the St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
Last Friday, Chickasaw came up short against Blacksher and fell 58-46. Chickasaw has struggled against Blacksher recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, St. Luke's Episcopal beat Clarke County 57-47 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Luke's Episcopal.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Luke's Episcopal to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kalaysia Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Robinson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Armani Coleman, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
Chickasaw's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.0 points per game. As for St. Luke's Episcopal, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Chickasaw opened the new year with a less-than-successful 41-31 defeat to St. Luke's Episcopal. Can Chickasaw avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
