League recap: Yukon stuns Eisenhower in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Yukon, who took down 72nd ranked Eisenhower, 59-7.

The Millers were the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in 6A District 3. Earlier in the week, Yukon defeated the Eagles 59-7.

Eisenhower's dynamic duo of Bentley Bross and Julio Santiago proved tough for Todd Wilson's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bross threw for 112 yards and Santiago had 36 yards receiving. Jarvis Jackson helped Eisenhower's passing attack out by catching two balls for 25 yards.

Wesley Sanchez was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 57 yards on 24 carries as Grant lost to the Millers. Salvador Morales also contributed to the rushing game with 39 yards on the ground.

5-foot-10 quarterback Peyton Gavras of Norman North is the league leader in passing yards this season with 625. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Edmond North's Ezel McIntee has rushed for 309 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ricky Alexander. The Eisenhower star has eight catches for 197 yards.

A big matchup in 6A District 3 this week will be when Yukon takes on the Timberwolves. As it stands, the Millers are in fourth, while Norman North is in second.

Yukon moved up to 86 from 118 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 59-7 win over the Eagles helped the Millers improve their standing.
