Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Breaux Bridge walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 35-19 win over Eunice on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Breaux Bridge.
Kelby Hypolite had a dynamite game for Breaux Bridge, rushing for 168 yards and four touchdowns. Hypolite was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Cristian Matthews and his 95 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Breaux Bridge's win.
Meanwhile, Assumption had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six two weeks ago. They blew past South Terrebonne 42-14 at home. Considering Assumption has won six matches by more than 20 points this season, two weeks ago's blowout was nothing new.
Breaux Bridge now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Assumption, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
