Baseball Preview: Martinsville Artesians vs. Bloomington North Cougars        
        
		
            
 The Martinsville Artesians will take on the Bloomington North Cougars at 8:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Martinsville is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a ten-game streak of away losses.
 Last Friday, Martinsville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  win over Decatur Central.
  Alex Kush spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  pitched less than seven  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Martinsville's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Josh Jones, who  went 3-for-3 with a  double.
 Meanwhile, Bloomington North was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They fell just short of Floyd Central by a score of  4-3.
 Even though they lost, Bloomington North  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with five  strikeouts. This was only their 12th loss (out of 18 games) when  they post five or more  strikeouts.
 Martinsville's win  ended  a  six-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 3-22. As for Bloomington North, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.
 Martinsville might still be hurting after the  17-3 defeat they got from Bloomington North  in their previous meeting  back in April. Can Martinsville avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
