Baseball Recap: Merced Has No Trouble Against Livingston

Merced was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on the Livingston Wolves with a sharp 15-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won four in a row.

Dylan Ferriera made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Ferriera was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Sean Trovao was incredible, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. Luis Pineda was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Merced always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Livingston only posted an OBP of .387.

Merced's record now sits at 3-0.

Merced has already played their next match, a 5-4 loss against Escalon on the 25th. As for Livingston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-5 defeat against Bret Harte on the 21st.
