Soccer Game Preview: South Houston vs. Pasadena Memorial

South Houston hasn't had much luck against Pasadena Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The South Houston Trojans will take on the Pasadena Memorial Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

South Houston is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Dawson on Wednesday. Neither South Houston nor Dawson could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Pasadena Memorial kept a clean sheet against Pearland on Saturday. They beat the Oilers by a goal, winning 1-0. The win was all the more spectacular given the Mavericks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Oilers are ranked 83rd).

Pasadena Memorial is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-1-2 record this season. South Houston's draw gives them a new season record of 2-2-1.

South Houston came up short against Pasadena Memorial in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 4-2. Can South Houston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
