The Oberlin The Phoenix had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Central Christian out 44-42. That two points margin sets a new team best for Oberlin this season.

Oberlin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Jones-Smith, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Gus Green, who scored ten points.

Oberlin's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-8. As for Central Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
