The Jay Royals will be taking part in a tournament against the Niceville Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Jay is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Jay didn't have too much trouble with Gulf Breeze as they won 53-39. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Royals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Dolphins are ranked 422nd).

Jay got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Presley Hawthorne out in front who posted nine points and six assists. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Gilbreath, who earned 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Niceville's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Walton Beach. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Jay's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points over those games. As for Niceville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
