Volleyball Recap: Archbishop McCarthy Comes Up Short

Archbishop McCarthy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mater Lakes Academy Bears.

While Archbishop McCarthy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21.

Nick Castillo paced Archbishop McCarthy's offense, picking up seven kills. Castillo got some help from Stephen Blakely and his 11 assists.

Archbishop McCarthy's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Archbishop McCarthy has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Horizon on the 4th. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Winter Park on the 4th.
