Recap: Oakhill Christian Royals vs. Rock County Christian Eagles
The Oakhill Christian Royals were the 43-40 winner over the Rock County Christian Eagles when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Oakhill Christian was outmatched by Rock County Christian on the road and fell 54-18. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Rock County Christian found their leader in underclassman Gideon Ukwuorji, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Tony Thompson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Oakhill Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Rock County Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakhill Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rock County Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. Rock County Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Christian Life at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Christian Life is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
