Basketball Game Preview: Troy Trojans vs. Jackson Heights Cobras

The Troy Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Jackson Heights Cobras on Tuesday. Troy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.

Back in December of 2024, Troy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Doniphan West, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Mustangs are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Henry Geiger, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.6 rebounds per game. Kaston Jasper was another key player, putting up seven points.

Troy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Jackson Heights waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They secured a 54-48 W over the Chargers.

Troy's record now sits at 4-1. As for Jackson Heights, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything went Troy's way against Jackson Heights in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Troy made off with a 44-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Troy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
