Baseball Recap: New Plymouth Wins Going Away Against Vision

New Plymouth was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Vision on Thursday. The Pilgrims put the hurt on Vision with a sharp 10-1 win. The Pilgrims haven't had any issues with Vision recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Jett Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashton Robinson, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Hawker, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

New Plymouth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

New Plymouth now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Vision, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

New Plymouth wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-4 loss against Marsing on the 1st. Vision does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
