Basketball Recap: Southwest Dekalb Snags 12th Victory in Last 13 Games

Southwest DeKalb extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Thomas Glanton, III. The Southwest DeKalb Panthers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Druid Hills Red Devils 66-35 thanks in part to Glanton, III, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 11 assists, and ten steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game.

Another player making a difference was Jourden Smoak, who posted six points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (three).

Southwest DeKalb is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season. As for Druid Hills, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Southwest DeKalb will square off against Lithonia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest DeKalb knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Lithonia likes a good challenge. Druid Hills has already played their next match (against St. Pius X Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
