Baseball Recap: Davis Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Davis had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Layton on Tuesday. The Darts were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Lancers. The result was nothing new for the Darts, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Croydon Christensen looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Owen Talbot was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Stryder Prowse was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two RBI.

Davis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Davis is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Layton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Lancers beat Davis by a score of 4-1 on Wednesday.
