Softball Game Preview: Fredonia Hillbillies vs. Gowanda Panthers

Fredonia has gone a perfect 3-0 against Gowanda recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Hillbillies will head out to challenge the Panthers at 5:00 p.m.

On Friday, Fredonia didn't have quite enough to beat Falconer and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Gowanda earned an 8-4 win over Eden on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Gracie Eddy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Holland Browning and Addison Kota did most of the damage at the plate: Browning scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Kota scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Corrina John, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Fredonia took their victory against Gowanda in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Hillbillies repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
