Basketball Game Preview: Wilson Mules vs. Marshall Barristers

Wilson is 0-10 against Marshall since January of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Wilson Mules will take on the Marshall Barristers at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Wilson is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Compton, falling 89-63.

Meanwhile, Marshall had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Panthers, posting an 86-54 victory. 86 seems to be a good number for the Barristers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Marshall is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.1 points per game. As for Wilson, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Things could have been worse for Wilson, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-43 loss to Marshall in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Wilson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
