Soccer Game Preview: Santa Fe vs. Gainesville

The Santa Fe Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Gainesville Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Monday, Santa Fe didn't have quite enough to beat Columbia and fell 2-1. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Gainesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Vanguard, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Knights are ranked 132nd).

Gainesville now has a losing record at 3-4-1. As for Santa Fe, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Santa Fe suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Gainesville in their previous matchup back in November. Can Santa Fe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
