Softball Game Preview: Ligonier Valley Rams vs. Greater Latrobe Wildcats

The Ligonier Valley Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Greater Latrobe Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ligonier Valley is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Friday just wasn't the day for Ligonier Valley's offense. They came up short against Greensburg Salem on Friday, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, Greater Latrobe started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Connellsville. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 10-8 on Monday. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Falcons since on Monday.

Ligonier Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Greater Latrobe, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Ligonier Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Greater Latrobe in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ligonier Valley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
