Volleyball Recap: Mt. Edgecumbe Takes a Loss

Mt. Edgecumbe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Barrow Whalers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Braves of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Mt. Edgecumbe sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-12.

Mt. Edgecumbe's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Barrow, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

Coincidentally, Mt. Edgecumbe and Barrow will both be playing Valdez the next time they take the court. The Whalers will head out to face the Buccaneers at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Braves will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
