Baseball Recap: Navarro Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Navarro is still undefeated this season after their game against Jay on Saturday, but Jay came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Navarro Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Jay Mustangs a 1-0 shutout. The one-run effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The team relied heavily on Caleb Wood, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Navarro's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Jay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Navarro will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pearsall at 7:00 p.m. on March 11th. As for Jay, they will square off against Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
