Volleyball Recap: Marshall Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cardinals on Saturday. Marshall walked away with a 2-0 win over Sun Prairie East. Winning may never get old, but Marshall sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Summer Hellenbrand paced Marshall's offense, picking up nine kills. Hellenbrand got some help from Ava Neuberger and her 22 assists. Kennedy Weisensel controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Sun Prairie East lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Rachel Leary, who had eight digs and three assists. Kiera Smith was another key player, getting three digs and two aces.

The victory got Marshall back to even at 4-4. As for Sun Prairie East, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Marshall and Sun Prairie East will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cardinals will square off against rival Belleville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sun Prairie East is set to face off against their familiar foe Janesville Craig at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
