Softball Recap: Anson Wins Going Away Against Cheraw

Anson's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Cheraw Braves with a sharp 13-7 win. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Anson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Cheraw, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Anson will take on Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats are facing the Yellow Jackets at the right time seeing as the Yellow Jackets are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Cheraw, they will square off against Buford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Braves surely won't give up without a fight.
