Basketball Recap: Pontiac Takes a Loss

Pontiac lost against Bishop McNamara back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pontiac Indians lost 54-32 to the Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Fightin' Irish are ranked 75th).

Pontiac now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Bishop McNamara, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pontiac will head out to face off against Olympia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pontiac is facing Olympia at the right time seeing as Olympia is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bishop McNamara, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Timothy Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timothy Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season.
