Basketball Preview: DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors vs. Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs
DSST: Green Valley Ranch is 0-3 against the Mustangs since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors will stay at home for another game and welcome the Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
While DSST: Green Valley Ranch couldn't quite beat the Marauders on Monday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 28-point loss they were dealt on Saturday. DSST: Green Valley Ranch fell just short of the Marauders by a score of 31-28.
Meanwhile, Addenbrooke Classical Academy stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Alameda 45-24. Winning may never get old, but Addenbrooke Classical Academy sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Lucia Rodriguez and Reena Lanzen were among the main playmakers for Addenbrooke Classical Academy as the former dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds and the latter scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Rodriguez hasn't dropped below four steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Angela Morton, who scored three points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
DSST: Green Valley Ranch dropped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Addenbrooke Classical Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
DSST: Green Valley Ranch took a serious blow against the Mustangs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 65-6. Thankfully for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, Caitlin Brook (who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
