Recap: Crawfordsville Athenians vs. Greencastle Tiger Cubs
This season hasn't been kind to the Crawfordsville Athenians, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They were the victim of a tough 46-24 loss at the hands of Greencastle on Tuesday. Crawfordsville lost against Greencastle in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 52-8 score last time.
Greencastle was led to victory by Bailey Brown and Evelyn Briones. Brown scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals, while Briones scored 16 points along with 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Briones has scored at least 25% of Greencastle's points. Madi Plew was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Crawfordsville's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Greencastle, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 2-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crawfordsville will take on Danville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Danville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.5 points per game.
