Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Adelyn Myers and Ava Pablic Lead Bishop Carroll to Victory

Bishop Carroll won the last time they faced Chestnut Ridge and things went their way on Monday too. The Bishop Carroll Huskies put the hurt on the Chestnut Ridge Lions with a sharp 57-32 victory. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Lions are ranked 595th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Bishop Carroll to victory were Ava Pablic and Adelyn Myers. Pablic posted 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Myers went 5 for 9 on her way to 11 points and five steals. Pablic is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Golden, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points.

Chestnut Ridge's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Daisy Moyer, who had nine points along with six boards and five blocks, and Naiara Shaffer, who earned nine points. The dominant performance also gave Moyer a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Leah Vent, who scored nine points.

Bishop Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Chestnut Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-15.

Bishop Carroll has already played their next game (against Penn Cambria), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chestnut Ridge will take on Forest Hills at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Forest Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Chestnut Ridge likes a good challenge.
