Baseball Game Preview: Oak Hills Highlanders vs. Lakota East Thunderhawks

The Oak Hills Highlanders will take on the Lakota East Thunderhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Hills will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, Oak Hills made easy work of Sycamore and carried off a 9-2 victory.

Brayden Lipps looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Oak Hills let Cooper Harrison and Wil Kraus run wild. Harrison scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Kraus scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Moeves, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Lakota East hadn't beaten Fairfield on the road since April 19, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Thunderhawks came out on top against the Indians by a score of 9-7 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunderhawks have posted against the Indians since April 19, 2021.

The victory got Lakota East back to even at 1-1. As for Oak Hills, their record is now 3-0.

Oak Hills skirted past Lakota East 11-10 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
