Basketball Recap: South Wake Triumphs

After losing to Cathedral Academy the last time they met, South Wake decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Sabres walked away with a 69-61 win over the Generals on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sabres.

Thomas Williams went supernova, almost dropping a double-double with 24 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave him a new career-high. Nathan Heiliger was another key player, putting up 11 points.

South Wake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

South Wake now has a winning record of 2-1.

South Wake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 92-50 victory against Ridge Christian Academy on the 15th. As for Cathedral Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Palmetto Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m.
