Basketball Game Preview: Plano East Panthers vs. Princeton Panthers

The Plano East Panthers will face off against the Princeton Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Plano East knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Princeton likes a good challenge.

Plano East is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Texas' top teams: Allen, who was ranked first at the time (Plano East was ranked 11th). Plano East came up short against Allen on Tuesday, falling 84-61. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Princeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-62 heartbreaker at the hands of McKinney Boyd. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since November 14, 2024.

Plano East's defeat ended a 23-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 23-5. As for Princeton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-20.
