Elkhorn North took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They took down Gretna 63-46. Given Elkhorn North's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Gretna is ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Standing Bear played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 88-50 loss at the hands of Norris. The Grizzlies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-28.

Elkhorn North's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Standing Bear, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
