Softball Recap: La Crosse Logan Comes Up Short

La Crosse Logan had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-9 to make it ten. They lost 10-0 to the Onalaska Hilltoppers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Onalaska, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games.

For Onalaska's part, Sydney Kraus 2028 was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Kraus 2028 has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on MJ Heit 2028, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Zoey Lichty 2027, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.
