Volleyball Recap: Newport Central Catholic Starts Season with Victory Against Newport

Newport Central Catholic had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Newport Wildcats on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Thoroughbreds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Newport Central Catholic was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-10, 25-11.

Kolbey Kohrs had a dynamite game, getting eight aces and one block. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Stevie, who had seven assists and three aces.
