Basketball Recap: Stratford Find Success

Stratford saw some tournament action on Friday. They walked away with a 66-57 victory over the Cabell Midland Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for Stratford.

Zanquel Baldwin was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Derrick Peterson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Stratford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Cabell Midland still got an impressive performance from Aidan Ray, who posted 19 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Blackburn, who put up six points and eight assists.

The win got Stratford back to even at 4-4. As for Cabell Midland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Stratford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-48 loss against Bullitt East on the 28th. As for Cabell Midland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-60 victory against Pisgah on the 28th.
