Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Breeza Valdez and Bibi Caceres Lead Mountain Empire to Victory

There's no place like home for Mountain Empire, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the El Cajon Valley Braves on Monday. The Redhawks not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 26, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Mountain Empire never let El Cajon Valley on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-7, 25-23.

Leading Mountain Empire to victory were Bibi Caceres and Breeza Valdez. Caceres had six kills, five aces, and one block, while Valdez had 14 assists and two aces. Those five aces gave Caceres a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Mountain Empire was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Mountain Empire's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Empire will venture away from home to take on Valley Center at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Cajon Valley, they will square off against Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
