Baseball Recap: Oxford Comes Up Short

Oxford managed to slip by West Elk the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats lost 16-6 to the Patriots on Thursday. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Pearson Rush and Logan Gaither stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rush went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base, while Gaither went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Rush is becoming a predictor of Oxford's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-9 when he doesn't).

Oxford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for West Elk, their record is now 4-11.
