Softball Recap: Sierra Pacific Comes Up Short

Sierra Pacific dropped their record down to 14-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 9-2 to the Immanuel Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Golden Bears couldn't push the score so high this time.

Sierra Pacific saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anaya Zaragoza, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Immanuel, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5-2 record this season. Considering they have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Immanuel's side, Amanda Herrera made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Herrera has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Efird, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Natalia Delgadillo was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Sierra Pacific will face off against Hanford West at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Golden Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for Immanuel, they will challenge Central Valley Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
