Preview: Allendale-Fairfax Tigers vs. Bridges Prep Buccaneers
Allendale-Fairfax is 5-0 against Bridges Prep since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Allendale-Fairfax Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Bridges Prep Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Allendale-Fairfax is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bridges Prep in South Carolina (Allendale-Fairfax is ranked 65th, while Bridges Prep is ranked 248th).
Last Tuesday, Allendale-Fairfax didn't have too much trouble with Bethune-Bowman on the road as they won 47-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Allendale-Fairfax.
Meanwhile, after only 15 points in their last match, Bridges Prep made sure to put some points up on the board against Royal Live Oaks Academy on Tuesday. Bridges Prep blew past Royal Live Oaks Academy 59-4 on the road. That 55 points margin sets a new team best for Bridges Prep this season.
Bridges Prep found their leader in underclassman Makayla Lapp, who scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lapp has scored at least a third of Bridges Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zariyah Henry, who scored 12 points.
Allendale-Fairfax's record now sits at 9-1. Bridges Prep's record is now 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Allendale-Fairfax against Bridges Prep in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 46-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Allendale-Fairfax since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
