Wasco never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 48-0 victory over the Chavez Titans. That looming 48-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Wasco got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayven Hernandez out in front who threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Hammie Lopez, who gained 68 total yards and three touchdowns.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Wasco, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Lopez, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Wasco's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Joel Nunez, Isaiah Garza, and Elijah Regalado, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Wasco's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Wasco will challenge Kennedy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chavez, they will take on Taft at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
