Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mountain View, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past the Wilcox Chargers 3-0 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Chargers on April 2nd, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

While Mountain View might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Wilcox scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 25-19.

Tyler Berent paced Mountain View's offense, picking up eight kills. Berent really made an impact as he also led the team in assists with 16. Finally, Evan Kelly kept Mountain View's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Mountain View's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. As for Wilcox, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Saratoga on the 23rd. As for Wilcox, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Los Altos on the 23rd.
