Volleyball Recap: Tompkins' Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Tompkins waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Seven Lakes Spartans by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tompkins had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-20.

Elsa St. Rose paced Tompkins' offense, picking up 22 kills. St. Rose got some help from Ava Shepard and her 26 assists. Shepard was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

When it comes to explaining why Seven Lakes lost, don't look at Emma Sabelli. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs and four aces. Sabelli has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Tompkins' win bumped their record up to 24-5. As for Seven Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 17-8.

Looking ahead, Tompkins will face off against Katy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Seven Lakes, they will be playing at home against Mayde Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
