Basketball Game Preview: Parkdale Panthers vs. Flowers Jaguars

Parkdale is 2-8 against Flowers since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Parkdale Panthers take on the Flowers Jaguars at 7:15 p.m. Parkdale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.8 points per game this season.

Parkdale's usually-dominant defense will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Our Lady of Mount Carmel offense got past them. Parkdale's2024 ended with a 64-46 defeat against Our Lady of Mount Carmel last Friday. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Parkdale might have lost, but man, Layla Burton was a machine: she posted 23 points and four steals. Burton's morning made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Lundyn Dozier was another key player, putting up eight points.

Even though they lost, Parkdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Flowers came up short against Maret on Tuesday and fell 69-59. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Having lost for the first time this season, Parkdale fell to 5-1. As for Flowers, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2.

Parkdale took a serious blow against Flowers in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 62-31. Can Parkdale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
