Basketball Recap: Vanguard Academy Rembrandt Piles Up the Points Against IDEA Pharr

Vanguard Academy Rembrandt won against Idea Academy two weeks ago with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Vanguard Academy Rembrandt Spartans blew past IDEA Pharr 60-17. With the Spartans ahead 39-9 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Vanguard Academy Rembrandt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryan Ruiz, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Cantu, who posted seven points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Vanguard Academy Rembrandt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.
