Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hoxie). Everything went their way against the Newport Greyhounds on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hoxie is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Newport, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Hoxie will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Maynard at 4:00 p.m. As for Newport, they will challenge Walnut Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
