Football Recap: Roanoke Rapids Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Roanoke Rapids had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to the Northampton County Jaguars for the full four quarters, racking up a 38-0 win. The Yellowjackets have beaten the Jaguars the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Jaguars has come to flipping the script.

Roanoke Rapids' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Demajay Wiliams, who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Yellorday, who rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Roanoke Rapids was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
